Zeina Boutros

Experience

Zeina has over 20 years of experience in the mental health and wellbeing sector both within government and non-government fields. Zeina’s gentle nature and diverse expertise have provided her with a wealth of experience working with a variety of clientele over the years ranging from drug and alcohol, domestic violence, mental health, abuse, psychosis, refugees, forensic backgrounds, behavioural, intellectual disability to family breakdown and much more. Zeina has worked with clients across the lifespan from children to adolescents and adults. Zeina’s roles have primarily seen her assisting in the provision of assessment, treatment and rehabilitation and often working with multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications

Zeina began her studies in a Bachelor of Psychology at the University of Western Sydney and working with the Department of Family & Community Services as a youth support worker whilst an undergraduate. During that time Zeina also completed her Lifeline / Youthline training and began working as a telephone counsellor. Upon completion of her degree she was accepted into the Masters programme and completed her Master of Psychology (Forensic) and commenced working as a Centrelink Psychologist in the South Metro offices of Bankstown, Strathfield, Campsie and Liverpool where she solely developed and facilitated a Parenting Programme aimed at equipping parents in Campbelltown develop social and wellbeing skills. Whilst at Centrelink Zeina assisted psychology masters students from UWS gain placements at Centrelink to assist meeting their supervisory requirements so it was only a natural progression that she commenced teaching psychology within the School of Social Sciences & Psychology and the School of Nursing & Midwifery at the University of Western Sydney on a sessional basis - where she also remains. Zeina has been volunteering her psychology services to a school with a large number of families from lower socio economic backgrounds where parents / carers are unable to afford the cost of assessment and treatment of their children. This is her desire to ensure that there exists equity in access to wellbeing services for all families.

Zeina is a full member of the Australian Psychological Society, an Associate member of the College of Forensic Psychologists, Veterans and Veterans Families Counselling Service Provider, Member APS Trauma / Military and Emergency Responders Psychology Interest Group, Sessional Academic Western Sydney University and has a current working with children clearance.

Elizabeth Rowling

Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Laws/Arts (Hons), a Graduate Diploma in Psychology and a Master of Professional Psychology. She is registered with AHPRA and is a registered Medicare Australia Provider. She is also a member of the Australian Psychological Society.

Elizabeth’s non-judgmental, empathetic and collaborative approach to counselling seeks to help clients clarify values, increase their self-awareness and garner personal strengths and resources that can be used to navigate life’s challenges more effectively.

She has experience working therapeutically with various presentations including anxiety, mood disorders, self-harm, suicidality, borderline personality disorder, grief & loss and developmental disabilities. She also works in primary and high schools and has experience working with children and adolescents, and their parents and carers.

Elizabeth utilises a range of evidence-based therapeutic models including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. She is committed to collaborating with clients to ensure that treatment is tailored to suit each individual’s needs.
